Jack and Cate Update -- January, 2008

Saturday, January 5, 2008

We had several hours to kill at the Montego Bay Airport, so we were fortunate to discover Jimmy Buffet's Air Margaritaville in one of the terminals. The kids found a television playing cartoons, and (after not watching a minute of TV all week) turned off their brains for a couple of hours. Meanwhile, Lisa and I enjoyed a tall, cool beverage.

I was thrilled that Jimmy Buffet's took credit cards. We discovered that many Jamaican businesses wouldn't accept credit (this is my definition of a third-world country), so we had to carefully ration our cash throughout the week. There was only one ATM in Negril that dispensed US currency, and there seemed to be an endless line of people waiting for it.
